A lot of people suffer from panic attacks.  Panic and anxiety disorders can cover a broad range from OCD to phobias and fears.

So what are a few tips for anxiety attacks that you could use to manage the problem?  You’ll usually know you’re having a panic attack when you start to have an increased heart rate, you get clammy hands, or your breathing starts to accelerate.  It’s not surprise that we feel like we’re in danger when we have panic attacks–these symptoms usually indicate danger in most situations.

Follow these tips to get control of panic attacks or symptoms of a nervous breakdown:

First, Your Breathing — You will notice that you often breathe very heavily when you’re having a panic attack.  When this happens, you will not have enough CO2 in your blood stream.  This sort of breathing will only trigger other panic attack symptoms and escalate your anxiety.  You can start to control this by paying attention to your breathing.  Take long and slow breaths.  Take time to fully breathe out all the air you inhale.  Do this form of deep breathing and you can actually stop a panic attack from happening in the first place.

Second, Pattern Interrupt — When you have a panic attack, you focus will narrow in on what caused the attack.  You will want to interrupt this pattern by changing your focus.  This may not seem like a fresh idea, but it is very useful.  You might consider calling up a good friend to share a joke or laugh about old times.  Watch something on TV to get your mind on something else.  Just make sure you get your mind off of what triggered your attack.

Third, Know Yourself — The most effective way to stop panic attacks is to really understanding panic attacks.  It might be speaking in public, driving a car,  socializing, or is it something completely unique.  The trigger is nothing more than the first of many layers.  Keep digging away at the problem and you’ll find the core issue.  Once you have a better grasp of that, you can prepare better in your life.

You’ll live a much more peaceful life if you follow this advice.  You can do this!  It may not be easy, but the results are worth it.
